Updated Fishing Regulations and Emergency Orders for the Kenai River – 2025

Alaska’s fishing regulations for the Kenai River, Kasilof River, and Cook Inlet are officially updated for 2025.
If you’re planning a trip this season, it’s important to stay informed so you can fish responsibly — and maximize your success on the water. 🌊🐟

📜 Important Changes for 2025

Here’s what anglers need to know:

Kenai River King Salmon Fishing Closure
Due to conservation efforts, there will be no king salmon fishing on the Kenai River in 2025. This includes both early-run and late-run kings.

Kasilof River King Salmon Restrictions
The Kasilof River remains open for limited hatchery king salmon fishing — with reduced bag limits and special gear restrictions.

Sockeye Salmon Season
Sockeye runs on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers are projected to be strong! See full Fishing Calendar 2025.

Emergency Orders Can Change
Stay updated throughout the summer by monitoring ADF&G Emergency Orders.

🐟 What This Means for Anglers in 2025

Even with king salmon closures, Kenai River fishing remains outstanding:

🎣 Sockeye Salmon — Peak runs mid-July
🎣 Coho Salmon (Silver) — Strong August and September action
🎣 Pink Salmon — Big even-year run expected
