Why We Run Two Sites (And Our Friend Said We Should)

🧠 A Smart Idea from a Friend Who Knows the Industry

When we were first designing our online presence, a good friend of ours — someone who builds websites and understands the fishing industry inside and out — gave us advice we’ll never forget:

“Don’t try to cram it all into one site. You’ve got two audiences. Build two homes.”

And that’s exactly what we did.

We launched both Kenai-Fishing.com and KenaiFlyFish.com — two different sites that serve one mission:
Help anglers have the most unforgettable fishing experience in Alaska.

🎣 What’s the Difference?

Both websites represent the same guide, same team, and the same world-class Alaska trips — but we split the focus so you can find what fits your style:

🐟 Kenai-Fishing.com

This is our main site for everything salmon fishing in Alaska:

If you’re bringing family, chasing big sockeye or silvers, or want a power boat–driven day with a camera-ready ending, this is your spot.

🎣 KenaiFlyFish.com

On the other side of the river, our second site focuses 90% on fly fishing and trout:

  • Rainbow trout & Dolly Varden

  • Drift boat floats down the Upper Kenai

  • Fly rod casting, gear, and education

  • Quiet, pure, fly-forward fishing experiences

Our friend called this split a “targeted clarity move” — and it’s helped new clients book the right trip faster.

👨‍✈️ Still the Same Guide — Ian and Bones

Regardless of which site you book through, you’re still fishing with Ian, a U.S.C.G. Certified Captain and full-time guide on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers.

And yes, you might meet Bones, the best fishing dog in Alaska 🐾

Check out over 150+ 5-star reviews from past clients who’ve fished with Ian and left with a freezer full of salmon and a camera full of smiles.
